A proposed amendment to SB908 would clarify definitions and what can and can not be used as a fertilizer. S.L.U.D.G.E. supports this amendment and believes it could be a big step forward in our fight to protect our land and environment throughout Missouri. We encourage you to reach out to Missouri senators and let them know that you want to see this bill passed. You can find contact information for all Missouri senators at https://senate.mo.gov/Senators/Directory or find our local representatives on the Community Resources page.
S.L.U.D.G.E. (Stop Land Use Damaging our Ground and Environment) is a committee formed by Newton County residents that have been impacted by the construction and operation of an industrial waste basin and land application of it's contents often referred to as sludge or biosludge.
Our mission is to protect the health, safety, and prosperity of our community and raise awareness about the potential dangers of industrial waste basins and biosludge land application. We aim to raise awareness, promote effective regulation, and advocate for sustainable and safer alternative practices by promoting informed decision-making and responsible waste management practices.
We believe that an informed community is a powerful one. Together, we can work to address these concerns and protect our quality of life, property values, and natural resources.
